CONNECTIONS
Grades 9-12

"Our Actions Make a Difference"
Duration: 3 - 4 days

The Connections Program is an immersive outdoor education experience designed to help students explore the interconnected relationships between self, community, society, and the natural world. Through experiential learning, wilderness exploration, reflection, discussion, and team-building activities, students are encouraged to deepen their understanding of the world and their role within it.

This multi-day program invites students to engage both their playful and intellectual selves as they explore wild places, ask meaningful questions, and develop the confidence, critical thinking, and leadership skills needed to become thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged citizens in an increasingly complex world.

During this program students will:

  • Build personal resilience, confidence, and self-awareness

  • Experience quiet reflection and solo time in the forest

  • Live technology-free for three days, including a cell phone-free experience

  • Strengthen connections with themselves, their peers, and the natural world

  • Participate in meaningful discussions about the social, environmental, and cultural challenges of the 21st century

  • Explore leadership, community, and responsible citizenship

  • Run, play, laugh, and explore in wild natural spaces

  • Sing, dance, create, and celebrate community together

  • Paddle traditional big canoes and engage in outdoor adventure activities

  • Ask important questions and think critically about the world around them

  • Analyze complex social and environmental issues from multiple perspectives while exploring thoughtful actions that support more sustainable and resilient communities

In today’s fast-paced and technology-driven world, many students experience stress, overwhelm, and disconnection from themselves, their communities, and the natural world.

The Connections Program invites students to slow down, be present, and reconnect through immersive outdoor education experiences in wild natural spaces.

Through reflection, shared experiences, meaningful conversation, adventure, and nature connection, students discover renewed confidence, inspiration, belonging, and a deeper relationship with the world around them.
