Kendal's Marathon Swim 2022 - A Fundraiser for Fircom!

Kendal Crawford is Camp Fircom’s Guest Experience Coordinator and a lifelong swimmer who discovered the joys of open water when she arrived on the Fircom staff team in 2018. Four summers of ocean swimming and one year of cold water training later, Kendal attempted her first swim marathon as a journey from Horseshoe Bay to Fircom on August 16, 2021. She completed the 11.9 km distance as part of a fundraiser that raised over $5700, covering the purchase of a new motorized support boat for the camp’s waterfront and out-trip programming!

Kendal’s now collecting pledges and donations for her second swim marathon attempt, taking place on August 19th, 2022. She’s aiming to more than double her 2021 distance, swimming from downtown Squamish to Fircom - a projected 31 km (that’s over 1200 lengths in the pool!). She hopes the money raised from this swim marathon will fund what we’re now calling the Fircom Beautification Project. This project will feature a number of necessary upgrades to the camp, including a new outdoor space beside the dining hall for everyone to enjoy.

Kendal is literally going to great lengths to raise funds for the camp, and needs the support of everyone out of the water to make the swim a huge success. You can pledge using the link below - we really appreciate it!
