Looking Ahead to 2024…
A Call to Action …
In January, our staff team will begin busily (and enthusiastically!) preparing for the 2024 operating season. We are excited to welcome all our returners home, and to share some of our new program and retreat offerings with returners and new campers and guests. In addition, we are eager to share some of the upgrades that have occurred over the winter, including the beautification of the area in front of the dining hall (which includes outdoor seating) and the transformation of Upper Jube into a gorgeous gathering space for campers and guests to relax, enjoy and be in community with one another.
Become a Difference Maker for Camp Fircom in 2024!
Are you familiar with the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’? In the case of Camp Fircom, it takes a community to support our camp so that we can remain a ‘going concern’ for years to come! There are so many ways that you can lend a helping hand in 2024, and not all of them require a financial commitment. Here are many of the awesome ways that you can be a difference maker for Fircom in 2024:
Need a nature fix or some family bonding time? Book a weekend or mid-week stay in the Farmhouse, Cottage or Craigcroft this winter. Sunrises and sunsets are especially beautiful during this time of year, and cozying up by the fire after a walk in a forest is the ultimate in relaxation! Now that we are not hosting weddings throughout most of the summer, we are thrilled to report that we have some weekend availability in July and August if you want to share some Fircom summer magic with your family and/or friends!
Interested in volunteering on site? Join us for our Spring Volunteer Weekend, which will take place March 8 - 10, 2024. Meals and accommodation will be provided! More information about how and when to sign-up will be provided in January.
Do you have board games, puzzles and/or craft supplies that you or your children no longer use? Consider donating these items to Fircom!
Missing the sense of community you experience at Fircom? Consider attending one of our fundraising events in the city (these events have not been determined yet, but there will definitely be a few!).
Do you need to offset your taxes with a charitable donation, or are you still trying to decide which charity you want to support this year? If you have the means to do so, consider making a one-time donation to Fircom or, even better, becoming a monthly donor for as little as $5.00 per month. Encourage your friends, family, and those in your social circles to do the same!
Does the company you work for have a donations program where they will donate to a charity on an employee’s behalf? If so, consider asking them to make a donation to Fircom!
Has it been awhile since you’ve been to Fircom? Come home to Fircom in 2024 by registering for a summer camp session or retreat while there is still space available.
Do you have connections to local businesses that you could approach for donations of items, services and/or experiences (i.e., concert tickets, hotel vouchers or restaurant gift cards) for our online auction in the fall of 2024? If so, we would love some help in securing donations!
Do you have programming ideas, or ideas for retreats or other offerings, that you’d love to experience at Fircom? Please share them with us!
Do you have time to spare and believe that you have a skill set that you think Fircom could benefit from? Please reach out to us if you do!
