FROM THE SILENCE

Meditation retreat

Time changes,
the world goes on changing,
but the experience of your inner silence, the joy of it, remains the same…
it is the one thing
that you can call your authentic being.

Are you looking for rejuvenation and a deeper sense of connection to your authentic self?

From the Silence
Adult Meditation Retreat

Stillness and nature — the most natural reset.

What would it feel like to trade distraction for clarity, and stress for stillness?

Science now confirms what practitioners have always known: being among trees lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, and supports the immune system. Time near the ocean steadies the nervous system and lifts mood. Silence allows the brain to reset, improving clarity and creativity.

Your Location: Gambier Island

Nestled on the southeast corner of Gambier Island beside the sheltered waters of Halkett Bay, The 120 acres of Camp Fircom offers a rare sanctuary of stillness just a short water-taxi ride from West Vancouver. Surrounded by thick forest and quiet coves, the retreat is alive with the sights and sounds of nature, where eagles and ravens soar overhead, and seals, otters, and occasionally orcas glide through the waters below. This tranquil haven invites a deep connection to the rhythms of land, sea, and sky; offering the perfect place to disconnect and recharge.

You’ll be invited into practices such as:

-Sitting quietly, observing the breath
-Walking and paddling in silence
-Yin Yoga and Deep Relaxation
-Meditative Stargazing
-Self-Inquiry / Dyads
-Eating simply and mindfully
-Meditation techniques using:
movement, breath and sound
-Swimming in bioluminescent waters
-Resting in nature without devices or demands

Just BE with your breath…

From the place of the neutral observer or witness, we can see ourselves and our life with clarity, recognize patterns or beliefs that have been running our life, and see the mind for what it is.

Step into your stillness. Breathe deep with the trees. Share a weekend of forest walks, an early morning silent paddle on Halkett Bay, ocean air, and simple meditation techniques to move energy in the body and quiet the mind. Experience how connection, with nature, with yourself, and with each other, can bring ease and clarity, and how your own voice can be a tool of profound transformation.

We live in a world that tries to sell us solutions for what nature has already offered us.
When we feel anxious, we reach for screens… yet calm lives in our breath and in the rhythm of walking.
When we feel disconnected, we look online… yet what restores us is presence, shared space, and simple conversation.
When we feel depleted, we often try to add more… yet renewal comes through rest, stillness, and nature.

From the Silence Retreat is a return to what’s always been here.
In the forest and by the ocean, we’ll move, breathe, sound and rest.
Each moment guided by an intention to respond from our centre, from the quiet space within.
We’ll explore how voice and breath, used consciously, can open the body and create space for deeper knowing.
This is not about learning complicated techniques.

This weekend is about remembering what you already know:
how to BE, breathe, listen, and connect with yourself… with nature, and with others…
from your inner silence.

“Although there are many meditation techniques, meditation is not a technique. Meditation is the practice of witnessing. Meditation gives you an opportunity to dis-identify from your body, mind, and emotions and experience your inner being. It allows you to step out of the chattering mind and transform your beliefs and conditionings into a purposeful life.”

- Mada Eliza Dalian

 Our Facilitator:

Neerava (Sandra) Kroeger has offered yoga and meditation for 25 years; in her former studio space in Tsawwassen, preschools, businesses, elementary/high schools, workshops and retreats. She also worked several years at Vancouver’s InspireHealth (integrated cancer care centre) where she taught yoga/meditation classes, offered private healing sessions (certified Reiki Master, Healing Touch, Sound Healing), led support groups, deep relaxation classes and provided peaceful music and outreach services for palliative clients (2004-2009). Neerava was the music director at CSL Vancouver from early 2007 until Nov, 2008, at Tsawwassen United Church from 2009 - 2014, and Langley's UCOL in 2021-2022, inspiring all with her heart-opening voice and music leadership.

For her own continued inner exploration, Neerava has been studying with Mada Eliza Dalian since 2013, and practicing with the profound and practical healing technique Mada created, the Self-Healing Dalian Method. Neerava is eternally grateful for Mada's wisdom and ongoing guidance and having the opportunity to be trained as a Dalian Method facilitator (2015 onwards). Neerava is passionate about offering the Dalian Method and all meditation practices that support this light-speed, powerful process.

Through her personal journey of transformation, Neerava has discovered a place of inner trust, silent awareness and freedom that is our birthright. She utilizes the Self-Healing Dalian Method with supporting active meditations to assist her process of continued inner exploration and expansion. Neerava brings 25 years of training, practical life experience, her strongly developed intuition, sincerity, creativity and deep compassion to all her private sessions, retreats, workshops, presentations and online courses.

Testimonial:

“Dear Neerava, I participated in your meditation workshop for young adults at Naramata Centre. I honestly feel I have been permanently changed from that experience and have developed a whole new awareness I never knew existed. One of them being able to hold the stillness that resides within the centre of my belly in my awareness. This was a catalyst for many shifts within me…thank you so much! I am eternally grateful!" - Denis, 2017
