Camp Fircom is geographically located on the South East corner of Chá7elkwnech (Gambier Island) in Átl'ḵa7tsem (Howe Sound). Chá7elkwnech lies in the unceded, traditional and ancestral territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and the Fircom community is incredibly grateful for the immense privilege we connect, live, learn, explore, rest and play on this majestic land. 

Camp Fircom is aware that we are settlers on Chá7elkwnech, and that we have a duty to care for this land and show respect for the life forms that inhabit it. We recognize that we have a responsibility to actively learn about and acknowledge Sḵwx̱wú7mesh culture, traditions, and history, which includes the traumatic and unjust impact of colonization and residential schools. 

Camp Fircom continues to find new ways of developing and engaging in meaningful relationships with members of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, and we are committed to doing the work required to reconcile and live in right relations with the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People.
