Please come join us for Hope in Átl'ḵa7tsem Howe Sound, our first ever young adults retreat at Camp Fircom!
This retreat will be open to youth ages 17-30, and will be focused on land & ocean based learning and celebrating. We will be arriving on-site after dinner on Friday, September 11th and settle in with an opening circle, and on Saturday we will be splitting our time between the land and the water. On land, we will be getting our hands dirty in the garden, learning about plants that are native to Chá7elkwnech, as well as doing some invasive species removal. On the water, we will paddle in big canoes to Halkett Bay Provincial Marine Park and learn about restoration efforts that have occurred in the UNESCO Biosphere, participate in a shoreline clean-up, and hopefully see some local wildlife. Hope in Átl'ḵa7tsem Howe Sound is free of charge to ensure accessibility regardless of financial limitations. We ask that participants cover a $25 commitment fee that is payable at the time of registration; if this cost is a barrier to you, please contact emily@fircom.ca for support.
This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of The Howl Experience and Ocean Wise.
