We are very sad to announce that overnight summer camp for children and youth will not be able to happen this summer at Camp Fircom. We miss you all, as Fircom is not the same without our camp community.

While there is uncertainty, we believe that the power of intention is valuable! If we are able to go ahead with overnight summer camp programs this summer, we thought it was important to share our program dates with you so that you can begin making plans that include time spent at Camp Fircom!

Anyone who is interested in service, either on the Board or as a member of one of the committees of the Board, is welcome to apply to the Nominating Committee

As of this moment, the Provincial Health Order that restricted overnight summer camps in 2020 is still in effect.

As a summer camp based in the United Church of Canada, we recognize the history of colonization that has shaped our camp, and that we continue to operate within today.

Our Leadership team has been working tirelessly on ‘reimagining’ what a summer at Fircom could look like, where members of our Fircom Community could still enjoy time at camp safely and without losing that sense of ‘Fircom magic’.

We miss having you here at camp and look forward to the opportunity to welcome you to our beautiful site (in whatever capacity we are able to operate!)

Our intention is to make an informed decision about the summer camp season once our provincial government shares their plans for slowly reopening our economy.

We are writing to you in the spirit of hope and optimism that we will be able to operate our summer camp programs in July and August 2020

We will be suspending our operations until a tentative reopening date ofTuesday, April 14th

At Camp Fircom, the health and well-being of our participantsis our top priority.

We feel very lucky to have engaged Terra McKenzie as Fircom’s new Executive Director.
